Black History Month
When you look at this portrait, you will see four strong black men whose life was cut short. My name is Cedric, and I am the owner and operator of Creative Brothers, LLC. I selected this picture “Running Out of Time” to illustrate to black men (young and old) that our time here on earth is truly short and we must live with a purpose. When I first heard the “I Have a Dream” speech by Rev. Dr. Martin Luther king Jr., I felt proud, excited, and not afraid to say that I am a black man living here in America despite the existence of the Jim- Crow law, racial bigotry and segregation that was inflicted upon us as a people historically and yet, at this very present moment. However, we continue to hold onto hope that better will come one day. Note these significant dates below:
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr was assassinated April 4, 1968 at 39 years old.
Marcus Garvey pass way June 10, 1940 at 52 of age.
Malcom X was assassinated on February 21, 1965 at 39 age of his death.
Frederick Douglas pass way February 20, 1895 at 77 years old.
I pose this incredibly significant question: What have you done lately as black brothers and sisters to make a difference today for our people?
